Been almost 10 days I have written nothing. I was deeply thinking about the things I should write about. But as saying goes— “Reality hits hard”. I realised that I was just thinking and not writing anything at all. I created this blog this month, and honestly I thought that I will be writing a post per day. But it seems moderately difficult to write it even in a week. Yesterday I sat down with my pen and copy and write down every thing that I think I can write about. I thought I should write about this topic first- Tell the truth at least don’t lie( taken from the book 12 rules of life by Jordan B Peterson. )
This truth is a special kind of truth. We all know how good of a storyteller we are when it comes to lies. Most of us are kind of wired to lie. Even for small things we lie. It is very clear to us when we lie to someone else. We know we are lying. Everyone lie- says Mr. Peterson. Here I am not talking about lying to your mother or friends. I am talking about the lies we tell to ourselves over and over again. Lies that are even hard for the liar to sort.
I am not saying that lying to other is good. All I am saying is that lying to self is much worse than lying to others.
Shallow understanding can be more dangerous than ignorance. It is easy to fool yourself into believing something that is not true. And it can be very difficult to break free from that false belief. We need to be honest with ourselves. We need to confront our doubts and fears, and face reality as it is, no matter how harsh it may seem. Not only will this help us grow and improve, but it will also make it easier for us to tell the truth to others.
"A lie is you know what you are saying is not true, buy anyway you say it"-Jordan B. Peterson
it’s not a good idea to say things you know not to be true
Honesty is a key factor in living a good life. Jordan B. Peterson, in his book, 12 Rules for Life, places great emphasis on the importance of telling the truth, or at least not lying. He believes that it is important to be honest with oneself, as it can be easy to deceive yourself into believing something that is not true. This can lead to a false sense of security and make it hard to break away from false beliefs.
Furthermore, Peterson stresses the importance of being honest and truthful with those around us. It is not good to lie, but it is also essential to be open and honest with those we interact with. Through being truthful and honest, we can foster understanding and trust, two of the most important aspects for creating meaningful relationships with others.
Ultimately, telling the truth or at least refraining from lying is a key part of living a meaningful life. It is essential to be honest with ourselves and with those around us. We must be brave and face our doubts, our fears and our reality, no matter how difficult it may be. By doing this, we can experience personal growth and development, gain a greater understanding of ourselves, and become better equipped to tell the truth to others.
